These Tagua nuts chunky long beaded necklaces are part of my vintage Tagua collection from the 60s, it is similar to the designs worn by the fashion Icon Iris Apfel in baquelite.

Everybody know Baquelite was the precursor of plastic jewelry, what not everybody knows is before baquelite was invented there was jewelry made of TAGUA nuts, that industry of natural jewelry and buttons sunk after cheaper plastic was invented.

But here we are back in organic and sustainable way of living and that is why I only design eco friendly jewelry made from tagua nuts and other organic rainforest mediums. These has a vintage style even was made in the 90s, similar to  bakelite and the  chunky beaded style loved by Iris Apfel.
