Tagua nut its scientific name is Phytelephas Macrocarpa, grows in a palm tree, knows also as the elephant tree that grows in the rainforests in Ecuador and Colombia, and the trade and carving of the nuts in handicrafts and jewelry provides an eco friendly income to local communities close to this beautiful gem of the nature.
